Junior Kenny Huang performs "Wake Me Up" by Avicii on the electric violin. Essentially a one man band, Huang transcribes all the instrumentation of the song with his violin by using a loop pedal. He taps on the body on the violin, plucks on the strings, and simply bows on the strings to reproduce motifs from the song. As he plays, he simultaneously records these sounds by pressing on the pedal. He double presses on the pedal to play the sound on loop and overlays the recordings to accompany his own violin playing.

On Feb. 26, 2016, the Music Department hosted its second Music Night of the year, featuring musicians from saxophonists to electric violinists and genres of musics from pop rock to romantic. It may have been a cold winter night, but that didn’t stop a large audience of students and family members from joining the performers for music, refreshments, and entertainment.
