Watch out, Serendipity and Dylan’s Candy Bar: there is another trendy dessert spot in town! CoolMess is the new dessert destination. It is definitely no ordinary ice cream parlor; CoolMess provides the unique opportunity to make your own personal ice cream creation from scratch.

Located on the the Upper East Side of NYC, it sits atop the restaurant Burger Heaven—making for a convenient dinner and dessert combo. The sweet atmosphere of the dessert oasis is established from the beginning: to enter, you walk up steps surrounded by sprinkle wallpaper and bright, colorful signs with sayings such as “Cool is the new hot.” This playful decor adds to the upbeat atmosphere, making this place very cheerful and whimsical .

Now the best part: the ice cream! First, you decide what you want to include in your ice cream. You start by picking a chocolate or vanilla base. You then are given the option to include three toppings to mix in. The topping choices include cookie dough, mini marshmallows, brownie bites, Reese’s pieces, Snickers, and other candies. While you can create your own concoction, CoolMess also provides a list of suggested combinations that customers can chose from.

After you order, an employee will bring out a tray of your chosen ingredients, and then, the ice cream making commences! Each table contains an ice cream machine into which you pour your base flavor. After around ten minutes, the ice cream begins to freeze. Then, you pour your selected mix-ins into the machine and use large spoon to incorporate the toppings into the base. From pouring the base to placing the spoon in your mouth, the entire ice cream making process takes around fifteen minutes.

The process to a homemade sundae involves only a few steps, but if you have any trouble, don’t worry because the employees are very helpful and friendly. All of the staff at CoolMess is happy to answer any and all questions you might have.

Most customers might expect the process to be the main attraction of CoolMess; however, the ice cream is absolutely delicious. Your creamy, rich frozen treat is prepared according to your specific preferences.

You can either order a small, which feeds three people, or a large, which feeds six people.

Though most people certainly do come for the ice cream, CoolMess also offers a wide array of other indulgent desserts and treats, such as gelato, milkshakes, and a wall full of candy.

CoolMess is a one-of-a-kind destination. It can accommodate large groups and host parties. The main drawback to this dessert extravaganza is the hours. I is only open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.t on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends; nevertheless, I assure you that it is worth adjusting your schedule to visit CoolMess. As a dessert lover myself, CoolMess definitely did not disappoint! So what are you waiting for? Head to NYC and make your ice cream dreams come true.
